Asset management and repositioning of a landmark trophy office complex completed between 1904 and 1990, spanning seven buildings and covering an entire block of the prestigious Koenigsallee in the core of the Duesseldorf CBD.
Acquisition: 2010
Disposal: 2014
Rentable Area (m²): 54,000
During the investor’s ownership period, FREO worked closely with the complex’s tenants to optimise, enhance and extend tenancies. Long-term lease regears were secured with the two largest tenants, Deutsche Bank and Linklaters, resulting in a highly attractive and stable income profile at exit. Further, FREO commenced the preparation of two future redevelopment opportunities on Breite Strasse, which would further enhance the complex’s attractiveness.
The complex was sold to a joint venture between Hines and a German pension fund in 2014.
